Hostel for Ukrainian refugees burnt down in Germany: arson suspected

The night before in Germany, in the municipality of Gross-Stromkendorf, a hostel for Ukrainian refugees burned down. The police are considering arson as the main version, Spiegel reports.

The dormitory building was almost completely burned out, only the outer walls remained. Fortunately, all 14 people accommodated in the dormitory were not injured, they managed to leave the premises in time.

It is noted that on the same day the police already came to the dormitory because of the graffiti with a swastika, which unknown people painted on the sign with the name of the hotel.

“Based on my many years of experience as a firefighter, I now assume that the fire was deliberately set,” said County Executive Tino Schoman.

The police are also considering arson as the main version.
