Firefighters successfully extinguished a fire that broke out at the World Trade Center in Hong Kong. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.
The fire started at noon in one of the utility rooms on the lower level of the shopping center building. The fire soon spread to the bamboo scaffolding covering the building's façade. The fire was extinguished at 16:30 local time.
Hundreds of people fled from the fire on the roof of the building. It is estimated that more than 150 people were trapped. Another 13 people were hospitalized.
City officials said firefighters used two powerful hoses to extinguish the fire and used ladders to rescue those trapped.
