High Court postpones eviction of Palestinian family from East Jerusalem

The High Court on Thursday partially granted the request of a Palestinian family in East Jerusalem to delay their eviction from their home in the Silwan area. According to Haaretz, the verdict echoes a similar ruling in the Sheikh Jarrah area. It is specified that the Duweik family bought the house from another Palestinian family in 1965. In 2014, they received an eviction order. The decision comes four months after the High Court ruled that Palestinians subject to eviction from Sheikh Jarrah may temporarily remain there until a final decision on property rights is made.
