According to Israeli media, the motive for the attempted murder of 26-year-old Lamis Abu Laban in Lod on February 5 was divorce proceedings.
Laban, mother of three children, was in the process of divorcing her 37-year-old husband. Lamis intended to move north to the Haifa region to live with her relatives. From there she arrived on Saturday, February 5th. She was sitting in her car, about to go up to her mother's house, when they opened fire on her and seriously wounded her.
Lamis' husband and her 31-year-old brother were detained on suspicion of attempted murder.
< br /> The police claim that it was the brother who shot and that he “planned everything in advance”. The husband was released under house arrest, the brother was extended the term of pre-trial detention for 8 days.
