Hapoel Tel Aviv announced the signing of a contract with the NBA champion

Tel Aviv "Hapoel" announced on Friday that he had signed defenseman Jordan McRae.

31-year-old McCrae got his shot at the world's big leagues in 2016 while playing for Phoenix. Cleveland, with whom he won the championship and although he started several times in the next season in the champion's five, left it in March 2017.

After a short stay in the Spanish Basque Country, from which he was Released due to an operation he had to undergo, McCray returned to the world's major league basketball in 2018 while playing with the Washington Wizards, and later moved to Denver and then to Detroit.

McRae played in the French league last season with another Hapoel Tel Aviv player; Tomer Ginat at the Metropolitans and averaged 14.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

McRae will replace James Young, who was injured and it is not yet clear what condition he is in and how long he has needed to recover.

“Due to the lack of clarity regarding the condition of James Young and with us approaching the start of the season in the league and Eurocup, we had to react quickly to find this the position of a quality and experienced player who could help us”, — said team coach Franco, saying that “Jordan was on our roster over the summer and I'm very excited to have him join us, I believe he will fit in quickly and know that his previous exposure to some of the players will help him become a significant addition for us".
