Hanukkah Light for Holocaust Survivors

High-level officials and volunteers of the Snir Association, founded by businessman Nir Shmul and directed by Lucy Dubinchik, in collaboration with the & ldquo; Repair Patrol for Seniors and Holocaust Survivors & rdquo; opened the Hanukkah celebrations by renovating the apartments of the elderly throughout the country.

Renovation work began on Monday evening in 8 locations: Pardes Hanna, Ramla, Ramat Gan, Kiryat Malachi, Haifa, Jerusalem, Hadera and Tel Aviv. Help teams will carry out the following work: processing dampness in the walls, accessibility of the apartment, repair of windows and electrics, restoration of furniture in the house, treatment and repair of broken floors, renovation of kitchen cabinets, repair of jambs and doors, repair of showers, etc.

At the end of the renovation work in the apartments, each elderly person receives a menorah as a gift and, together with a team of volunteers, will light holiday candles. After that everyone will be invited to the festive table.

Nir Shmul, Chairman of the Association & ldquo; Snir & rdquo ;:

& ldquo; The Association continues to work on this project to reduce social problems in Israel. And this time, we decided to focus on the elderly and Holocaust survivors who live in difficult living conditions. Our Hanukkah activity this year was dedicated to two members of the organization who left this world – Alon Lupovits and Gila Lebanon. ”

Lucy Dubinchik, who came to the event, told the volunteers:“ This step will expand the project's opportunities for all of us and for the elderly who needed participation, especially since this is a project that will bring peace and confidence to the elderly already at the beginning of winter. ''

According to Rotem Lalush, “ The Association of Patrol Services Renovation for the Elderly and Holocaust Survivors marks the year of the national Hanukkah project, during which we will renovate 8 apartments for the elderly and Holocaust survivors in 8 days that are unfit and safe for life. We have attracted dozens of professionals, organizations, associations and companies to help seniors and Holocaust survivors live in their own warm and safe home. ”
