The driver of the Mercedes team and perhaps the greatest driver of his generation, Lewis Hamilton received a knighthood from the hands of Prince Charles. The 36-year-old has arrived for the ceremony at Windsor Castle with his mother Carmen Larbalestier.
Autoweek reports that the knight rider title was awarded a few days after he eluded his eighth race victory. The first place went to the Dutch athlete Max Verstappen.
Hamilton became the fourth Formula 1 driver to be awarded the knight title.
