Haiti: ex-senator accused of assassinating president

Former Haitian Senator John Joel Joseph is the third suspect to be charged in the United States in connection with the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.

Joel Joseph was charged with “conspiracy to commit murder or kidnapping”, as well as material support for the operation that led to the death of the President of Haiti.

A 51-year-old political rival of President Moise was arrested in January in Jamaica. Last week, he was extradited to the United States, where he appeared in court on Monday, BBC reports.

Recall that the President of Haiti was killed by a group of people who broke into his house at night.
