 Hackers leaked the data of millions of Mail.ru users to the public

The data of 3,412,253 Mail.ru users were published. The domains @bk.ru, @inbox.ru and @list.ru also got here. The leak also affected 199 corporate addresses on the @corp.mail.ru domain.

The leaked database contains the following data:

  • User ID;
  • E-mail address;
  • Phone number;
  • First and last name;
  • Login.

DLBI experts, through selective checks of records in this database, confirmed at least the coincidence of email addresses and phone numbers, which indicates the authenticity of the data.

By itself, such a leak does not pose an immediate danger to users, since it does not contain passwords. However, this information can get into various hacker databases, and then it will be used by attackers to, for example, ingratiate themselves with the victim, hack an account or steal funds.
