Gucci leaves creative director Alessandro Michele

Designer Alessandro Michele has stepped down as creative director of fashion brand Gucci. According to CNN, he worked for the fashion house for 20 years. “The path that Gucci and Alessandro have traveled together over the past years is unique and will remain a standout moment in the Maison's history. His passion, imagination, ingenuity and culture have put Gucci in the spotlight where it belongs,” said the conglomerate’s chief executive, Francois-Henri Pinault. According to the company, Michele played a fundamental role in the creation of the brand. He touchingly said goodbye to the team, wishing them to always live their passions and be driven by the wind of freedom. “Today marks the end of an extraordinary journey for me, spanning more than twenty years, within a company to which I tirelessly devoted all my love and creative passion. All this time, Gucci has been my home, my foster family. To this large family I send my most sincere gratitude, my biggest and most sincere hugs. Together with them I wished, dreamed, imagined. Without them, none of what I have built would have been possible. My most sincere wish to them: may you continue to cultivate your dreams, subtle and intangible matter, for which it is worth living,” he said.
