'Girl with a pearl earring' has become a new target for climate activists

Johannes Vermeer's masterpiece “Girl with a Pearl Earring” — the latest artwork targeted by climate change activists during a protest at the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague.
In a video posted to Twitter, one man can be seen pouring a can of tomatoes over another man, who then attempts to glue head towards the world-famous painting.

Dutch broadcaster NOS reports that the Mauritshuis Museum said the priceless painting was unharmed.

One of the men, wearing a T-shirt that read ” “Just stop the oil,” screams, “What do you feel when you see something beautiful and priceless being destroyed before your eyes?

Police in The Hague say they have arrested three people for “publicly violating property.”
