Georgian special services detained one of the ISIS leaders

At the Tbilisi airport, the State Security Service of Georgia detained an influential member of ISIS — Tsiskar Tokhosashvili — for participation in terrorist activities.

According to the investigation, in 2015 he left Georgia and joined ISIS. In the Middle East, he became known as “Emir Isa” and quickly became an influential figure in the organization, actively participated in terrorist activities, led one of the units and maintained close ties with other leaders of ISIS.

Tsiskar Tokhosashvili was actively involved in terrorist activities and combat operations in Iraq and Syria. For some time, he led one of the divisions of a terrorist organization in the conflict zone, the Georgian Security Service notes.

Now Tokhosashvili faces 10 to 17 years in prison. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against him on the fact of joining a foreign terrorist organization and complicity in terrorist activities.

His brother, Caesar Tokhosashvili, who held one of the highest positions in ISIS, is already serving his sentence in Georgia.
