 Gaza farmer finds 4,500-year-old goddess statue

A Palestinian farmer from Khan Younis in Gaza discovered the head of an ancient sculpture, reports The Jerusalem Post.

Palestinian scholars have identified it as Canaanite, dating from around 2500 BC. According to archaeologists, the statue belongs to the Late Bronze Age – 4500 years ago.

statues are missing. It is noted that the head is crowned with a snake crown.

WAFA reported that the sculpture represents the Canaanite goddess Anu (Anat), the goddess of love, beauty, and also war, according to Canaanite mythology.
