On Tuesday afternoon, four people working on a kiwi plantation in a northern kibbutz saw a bush they mistook for cherry tomatoes. They ate the fruit, which also tasted like tomatoes.
Another worker suspected it might be the poisonous suronum plant. And indeed, after a while, the "gourmets" symptoms of dizziness, abdominal pain and headache appeared. The poisoned workers were rushed to the emergency department of the Ziv Medical Center.
Dr. Nader Beloth, who examined the victims, said that they were under observation and receiving infusion therapy.
