Former South African president's Nobel Peace Prize medal was stolen

The Nobel Peace Prize medal was stolen from former South African President Frederick Willem de Klerk. De Klerk received the prize with Nelson Mandela in 1993 for their efforts to end the apartheid system. According to the BBC, the medal was stolen from the ex-president's house back in April.

South African media reported that the police did not make any arrests and did not return the medal.

The ex-president's widow , Elita, said that when she returned home from a trip abroad, she found that the safe in her house was “almost empty.” The woman does not hope that things will be returned.
