Former Shin Bet chief: < /p>

Former Shin Bet chief and Homeland Security Minister Avi Dichter commented on Israel's Operation Dawn in Gaza against the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Speaking to 103 FM, Dichter said: “The operation was one of the most effective I can remember. Jihad tried to establish links between Gaza, Judea and Samaria. It is not the largest organization in Gaza, but it is still trying to copy Hamas and, according to published reports, they were planning a terrorist attack using anti-tank missiles.

Also, Avi Dichter praised the “restraint shown by the IDF and the Shin Bet” ;.

According to Dichter, “there is no doubt that the fact that Islamic Jihad” losing two of his most senior commanders on the ground is an outstanding operational result.”

At the same time, according to Dichter, the situation with Hamas looks the opposite. He noted that the fact that Israel did not strike Hamas at this time “sets a dangerous precedent.”

Hamas came out stronger than all the other rounds,” Dichter said.
