 Former FTX CEO Bankman-Fried extradited to US

Authorities in the Bahamas said Wednesday that former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Freed has been extradited to the United States to face criminal charges related to the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange, the Associated Press reported.

The Bahamas Attorney General's Office said Bankman-Freed would leave for the United States on Wednesday, noting that he had waived his right to appeal the extradition.

The vehicle carrying Bankman-Freed was seen to have arrived to a private airfield at Nassau Airport, from where he was supposed to fly to the United States. He is due to land in New York and is likely to appear in a US court on Thursday. The 30-year-old could potentially spend the rest of his life in jail. the US government. U.S. Attorneys allege he was central to FTX's collapse and kept its problems hidden from the public and investors.

Bankman-Fried resigned as FTX CEO the same day the bankruptcy filing was filed .
