Former Duran Duran guitarist battles prostate cancer

Duran Duran have revealed that their former guitarist Andy Taylor is battling stage four prostate cancer.

The band made the sad announcement in their speech when they were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame roll during the ceremony in Los Angeles, according to The Mirror.

Taylor, who has been battling advanced prostate cancer for four years, did not attend the event, but Simon LeBon read a letter from him on stage.< br />
Guitarist Andy Taylor joined the band in 1980, two years after their founding. He left the band before recording their fourth album, Notorious in 1986, and then returned in 2001.

This led to a string of successful tours and 2004's Astronaut, which peaked at number three in the UK album charts. Taylor left the band again in 2006.
