Former Ankara mayor blames US and Israel for earthquake in Turkey

The former mayor of Ankara, Melih Gökçek, put forward the version that the devastating earthquake in Turkey was “the work of the United States and Israel”. This is written by the Russian media, referring to the Iranian journalist Khayal Muazzin.
„I say this with a subjugation. An earthquake can happen in Istanbul, especially there are studies carried out by some countries. They have machines for earthquakes, they call them “Tesla“, the Turkish politician said.
According to Melih Gökçek, an earthquake can also be caused by the Gölcük earthquake. „Activation of the energy accumulated on the fault line. Gas accumulation is possible,” he said.
The former mayor of Ankara believes that Turkey, having survived the coup attempt, cannot be destroyed in this way, so international powers use other methods.
„Turkey survived an attempted coup. Turkey can no longer be destroyed by a coup. They have new methods. This is a game of international powers. Foreign seismic research ship in Marmara, American and Israeli ships must not roam openly “,– summed up Melih Gökçek.
Earlier, Vladimir Shapovalov, deputy director of the Institute of History and Politics of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, voiced a similar opinion: „…I would not discount any theories, including the artificial interference in these events. Let's remember that there was an attempted coup in Turkey a few years ago. There are obvious reasons to believe that the United States had some involvement in this attempt“.
