The first cases of flurona were discovered in Catalonia – infection with both influenza and coronavirus. The cases have been confirmed by the director of the Catalan health service, Gemma Craiwinkel, according to Euro Weekly News.
According to the Ministry of Health, the cases are “ mild '' character.
& quot; These are isolated cases. This is not the norm, and so far we are talking about a mild course, '' said Kreivinkel and recalled that common diseases can combine several viruses.
It is noted that both viruses cause shortness of breath, because both affect the upper respiratory tract.
Flurona, a combination of the words flu (flue in English – ed.) and corona, was first discovered in Israel in a pregnant woman who was infected with both viruses at the same time. All her symptoms were mild.
Flurona is not a new strain of coronavirus like Omicron and Delta. Although until now there have been no known cases of infection when patients had either one virus or another.
Note that in Spain, about 90% of the adult population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
