Flooding in Istanbul: homes, factories and mosques flooded

As a result of flooding caused by heavy rainfall, 134 residential buildings were flooded in Istanbul, more than 90 residents were resettled to safety. This is stated in a statement by the Governor of Istanbul Province.

It is noted that in 18 districts, 134 residential buildings, three factories and a mosque were affected by the flood.

“91 people from the damaged houses were placed in a student dormitory,” the statement says.

Works on cleaning up the territory and pumping out water continue, rescuers, public utilities workers, divers, representatives of the Red Crescent are involved in them. The state began to provide financial assistance to the victims.

Let us recall that in June, less than five people died as a result of a flood caused by heavy rainfall in the Black Sea region in northern Turkey.
