Leonid Ptashka's new Grammy Jazz Summit project promises to be the brightest jazz event of the coming season. Participation in the project of world jazz legends, multiple nominees and winners of the Grammy Award; – Stanley Jordan and Bill Evans, known for their unique playing style and daring musical experiments, will make this project unforgettable.

Stanley Jordan – known as the symbol of “two-handed tapping” – a unique technique of playing with two hands on the guitar fretboard. This style of playing is also called
“piano”. Jordan combined the principle of playing keyboard and string instruments, which allowed him to simultaneously play a melody and
chords, and with extraordinary ease and virtuosity. What's more, Stanley is now able to play two guitars at once, and even the guitar and the piano, making them blend fantastically under his hands.

Stanley Jordan's first record, titled “Magic Touch”, was released in 1985. It included original compositions performed by Jordan in a new tap style. The album made a splash, and after a couple of days of sales it was impossible to find on the shelves of music stores. Stanley was immediately nominated for a Grammy, which is extremely rare for the first albums. In total, Stanley Jordan was nominated four times for this prestigious music award. Jazz Critic of the Los Angeles Times wrote: “Genius is a word that has already been erased from constant use in the circle of musicians, but it can rightly be attributed to Stanley Jordan!”

Stanley Jordan played on the same stage with such giants of American music as Benny Carter and Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blackley and Richie Cole, participated in the recording of albums by Stanley Clarke and Kenny Rogers.

For Stanley Jordan, the world of music is not only concerts, composition, spiritual quest, it is also … healing. He studied music therapy at the University of Arizona and completed his master's degree. Now touring the world, Stanley makes sure to visit hospitals and schools to help people improve their health through music.

Bill Evans — saxophonist, singer, producer, world-class artist, multiple Grammy nominee and winner. He was born on February 9, 1958 in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. A significant role in his fate was played by studying with the famous saxophonist and teacher Dave Liebman, thanks to which the young musician was invited to join the Miles Davis ensemble. Evans has featured on a number of his albums, including We Want Miles; (1982), which won a Grammy. In 1984 he joined John McLaughlin and his Mahavishnu Orchestra. In addition, the musician toured and recorded with the Elements, as well as with the guitarist of the band “The Police”; Andy Summers.

Bill Evans experimented with jazz, jazz-rock, reggae, funk, bluegrass, hip-hop; recorded with famed soul jazz musician Les McCann and country music star Willie Nelson.

Today, his main brainchild — group “Soulgrass”, which arose at the junction of jazz, rock and bluegrass. “I have mastered a wide variety of genres, forms and styles, — says Bill. —"Soulgrass" took in everything I love. Music has no boundaries, it cannot exist within the same genre or style. Every musician in my band — an all-rounder that can instantly switch from one style to any other.

Evans collaborates with many world music stars – Warren Haynes, Robbin Ford, Randy Brekker, Jake Sinninger, D. Medeski, D. Martin and Co. Wood and many others.
The program will include original compositions by Stanley Jordan and Bill Evans, included in the classics of world jazz.
