 Fire in the Upper Galilee: aircraft sent to fight the fire

Fire planes and rescue teams are fighting fires in northern Israel.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Service reported that 18 fire brigades, eight fire planes and other first responders are working to put out several fires near Kibbutz Manara in the Upper Galilee near the Lebanese border.

Authorities describe the fire as “very extensive.” At present, the fire is still not under control and continues to spread.

According to the fire and rescue service, a forest fire has also broken out near the Mesilat Zion moshav near Latrun outside of Jerusalem.

A fire helicopter, as well as 7 fire planes and 29 fire brigades are fighting the fire.
