Fighting between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan: the parties agreed on a ceasefire

Representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed to end the fighting on the border that broke out on Thursday, January 27.

The parties came to an agreement on the withdrawal of troops from the border and the opening of the Batken-Isfana highway, as well as on joint patrolling of the border areas.
two people from the Tajik side were killed on the border, 10 were injured. The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Tajikistan reported that the victims were a resident of a border village and an ambulance driver.
