Israel was hit by cold weather with showers and snowfall, resulting in large-scale flooding in many cities of the country.

The streets of Israeli cities have turned into rivers, leading some residents to use kayaks for easy transportation.

In addition, dozens of cars were flooded, in some areas life just stopped. Rescue services were called in to rescue people stuck in their vehicles.

Rain and intermittent thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the day, along with strong winds across the country and snow on Mount Hermon. Snow could also fall in the Golan Heights.

According to The Jerusalem Post, State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman released a report on the country's readiness for heavy rains, saying infrastructure across Israel is not set up to properly withstand such storms.
