Former Jerusalem police chief released from prison for good behavior

On Thursday, August 25, the former Jerusalem police chief will be released from prison. The High Court rejected attempts by the prosecutor's office to prevent his early release. Last month, the prison parole board decided to release Nissan “Niso” Shaham, who was sentenced to 10 months in prison for sexual harassment, fraud and breach of trust. The decision was explained as good behavior. He began serving his prison term in March. Women's rights organization Na’amat called this event “scandalous”.
