Police have arrested a man suspected of being involved in sending millions of text messages about the sale of drugs, which literally flooded the phones of Israelis.

This is reported by the Times of Israel.

The operation was carried out in Bnei Brak, where a warehouse with machines with hundreds of SIM cards was found. These machines were programmed to send five to six million text messages a day.

The suspect, 30-year-old Kobe Magenzi, has no criminal record. Until a few months ago, he was serving as an officer in an elite technology unit in the Israel Defense Forces, according to police.

According to the report, Magenzi claimed to have worked alone and earned only 2,000 shekels a month from this operation.

“Until now, this man has lived a normal life. But he had a lot of technical knowledge,” the police said.

At the same time, the police admitted that the technical operation was allegedly criminal organization, since this will require significant financial capabilities.
