Former Deputy Interior Minister and Presidential Adviser Mustafa Taizadeh arrested on charges of “acting against national security interests” Islamic Republic. It is reported by Reuters. The arrest of a critic of the current government comes after he said last week that Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, should be held accountable if attempts to return to the nuclear deal fail. In particular, the activist wrote on the social network that against the backdrop of terrible economic conditions, failure in this matter would “have devastating consequences.” Since insulting Khamenei is prohibited by law in Iran and punishable by imprisonment, the activist was detained. Also detained were two Iranian actors who signed a petition calling on the security forces to lay down their arms.
