 EU to allocate 433 million to Belgium, Italy and Luxembourg to support Ukrainian refugees

Belgium, Italy and Luxembourg will receive an additional 433.79 million euros from the EU under the REACT-EU project. It aims to support Ukrainian refugees, employment and the healthcare sector.

In Belgium, 33.4 million euros from the European Social Fund (ESF) will be used to strengthen guidance, counseling and employment support. The goal is to integrate Ukrainian refugees and vulnerable job seekers into the labor market. The support program will also include those who have lost their jobs or are in precarious employment conditions after the COVID pandemic, according to the European Commission website. .

In Italy, 136 million euros will be added to the operational program “Governance and institutional capacity” to help reduce the burden on the country's health system and promote the recruitment of new public health workers.
