EU countries ban colored tattoos

Color tattoos banned in EU countries

< p>

From January 4, 2022, a ban on the use of color pigments for tattoos came into force in the European Union.

According to DW, the decision was made due to dangerous chemicals, which are found in tattoo inks.

According to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), about four thousand chemicals in tattoo ink formulations pose a potential health hazard.

It is noted that that tattoo ink suppliers promised to make the ink safe by the end of 2021, but did not deliver on their promise.

Blue 15 and Green 7, which are found in most tattoo inks, were on the list of prohibited pigments.
