Google and Amazon employees opposed the contract with Israel

Google and Amazon employees have protested against the $1.2 billion cloud computing project Nimbus, funded by Israel. Dozens of employees organized demonstrations in New York, Seattle, San Francisco and Durham. They called on employers to terminate the contract with the Israeli military. Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud executives have signed a lucrative $1.22 billion contract with the Israeli government to provide ministries and the military with artificial intelligence and cloud storage. "Project Nimbus— not the first and not the last attempt by Google to become a military contractor. Please help us stop Google from becoming an accomplice of apartheid”, — said Google software engineer Gabriel Schubiner.
