Elon Musk recruits team to develop ChatGPT competitor
|News » Science & Technology
In recent weeks, Elon Musk approached AI researchers with a proposal to create a new research lab to develop an alternative to OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Tesla and Twitter CEO Musk hired Igor Babushkin, a researcher who recently left Alphabet's DeepMind AI division.
The message comes after ChatGPT, a text-based chatbot developed by OpenAI with a wide range of features, gained widespread attention in Silicon Valley.
Musk, who co-founded OpenAI in 2015 as a not-for-profit startup with Silicon Valley investor Sam Altman, left the company's board of directors in 2018 but voiced his opinion on the chatbot, calling it “terribly good.”< br />
Musk and Babushkin discuss gave the creation of a team to conduct research in the field of AI, but the project is still at an early stage, without a clear plan for the development of specific products.
