Elon Musk gave Ukraine access to Starlink satellite internet

Starlink satellite internet from Elon Musk's SpaceX has expanded coverage. Now the satellite Internet service has been launched in Ukraine.

Elon Musk himself said this in response to a request from the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov.

“Starlink services are now active in Ukraine. More terminals are on the way,” Musk said.

Earlier, Fedorov approached Musk about launching Starlink in Ukraine on Saturday. He wrote a message on his Twitter page.

SpaceX has installed more than a thousand satellites for Starlink and continues to expand coverage . In total, SpaceX plans to launch 12,000 such satellites into Earth orbit, and then increase their number to 30,000.

Until now, Starlink services were not available in Ukraine due to the relatively high cost of equipment and subscription services – the service would be beyond the reach of a large part of the population. The second reason why the services were unavailable in our country – the reluctance of the owner, Elon Musk, to deal with the registration of Starlink in Ukraine.

Starlink can be very useful for Ukraine in case of possible problems with Internet access due to the Russian invasion. Prior to this, the Russian Federation expressed serious concern about Starlink due to its resistance to external influences.
