Pan-Arab news website headquartered in London"Al-Araby Al-Jadeed" reported that Egypt over the past week has been trying to contain Hamas and persuade the terrorist organization to refrain from actions that could lead to a new military conflict with Israel.

Messages in this spirit were conveyed to the Hamas delegation, led by met with the head of Egyptian intelligence in Cairo.

The Egyptians presented Hamas with possible compensation for calming the situation, which included facilitating the passage of goods and people at the Rafah checkpoint to help the Palestinian economy in Gaza and reach an understanding with Israel .

Egypt is also working to make progress on terrorist prison conditions, although National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is keen to tighten them.

The Egyptians also told senior Hamas officials, that military confrontation will cancel all agreements reached after previous rounds of escalation of the conflict, but it is also may be due to difficulties in communicating with the Israeli government “due to Israeli stubbornness”.

Egyptian Army Chief of Staff Usama Askar directly addressed IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi during their meeting in Bahrain at an international military conference and asked him to put pressure on the government to stop the escalation, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and the risk of it escalating into a military conflict on several fronts.
