EDF signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with the Polish electricity company Respect Energy to jointly develop nuclear power projects in Poland
Future projects will be based on small modular reactor technologies (MMP, English – SMR) EDF NUWARD.
“By signing a cooperation agreement, we are starting an ambitious project to deploy the first European SMR in our country, which will help us decarbonize the Polish economy and expand our growing portfolio zero-emission assets”, – stressed the head of Respect Energy Holding Sebastian Jablonsky.
EDF said they are ready to provide a comprehensive European proposal to help decarbonize the Polish economy and improve the country's energy security. To do this, the company will use its portfolio of EPR reactors, which includes large and medium reactors and is complemented by NUWARD technology.
