Earthquake death toll in Turkey exceeds 42,000

In Turkey, the total death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck on February 6 has risen to 42,310.
The National Emergency and Disaster Management Authority reported 21 February.
According to AFAD, earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 that occurred in the province of Kahramanmarash were followed by 7,184 tremors. As a result, more than 13 million people were affected.
Rescue teams set up a total of 301,289 tents and 6,375 containers, which were sent by ministries and relevant agencies from different countries and international organizations to the disaster area. There are currently 14,740 local and international search and rescue personnel in the field.
