The Boeing 747 suffered a minor accident on Tuesday morning, losing a wheel off its main landing gear during takeoff from an airport in Italy.
The flight was not interrupted and the plane managed to land safely in the US, Italian media reported.
The Boeing 747 took off from the airport in Taranto in southern Italy and landed in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.
The wheel itself was later found in vineyards near Taranto. No one was injured in the incident.
