Disney cancels 'Beauty and the Beast' prequel series

The Disney+ streaming service has canceled the production of the Beauty and the Beast prequel series, which was supposed to start filming in the summer of 2022.
About Deadline reports this.
Due to creative delays, the start of filming was reportedly postponed several times, and the decision was eventually made to put the project on hold.
“Beauty and the Beast” will consist of eight episodes. The main roles were supposed to be given to Luke Evans and Josh Gad.
