The cause of death of the legendary actor, musician and songwriter has not been disclosed.

Vakhtang (Buba) Kikabidze studied at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, as well as at the Institute of Foreign Languages. instrumental ensemble "Orera".

At the international film festival "Kartakhan-70" he received an award for the best performance of a male role in the film “Don't despair” 1969. He also received the State Prize for the film "Mimino" (1978). On his account there were many roles in the masterpieces of cinema, which are popular even today. Among them are such films as “Do not Cry!”, “Mimino”, “Orera, full speed ahead!”, “Dumas in the Caucasus” and others.

Since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea, the actor has been actively supporting Ukraine. And in 2022, in an interview, he admitted that he severed all ties with the Russian Federation after a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In particular, Kikabidze then said that Putin, who is a big fan of Stalin, staged a genocide of the Ukrainian people , unleashing a "this vile war".
