Four grandchildren of the Queen are stripped of their titles in Denmark

< p>

Queen Margrethe of Denmark has decided to deprive her four grandchildren of their titles. According to the Daily Mail, her decision will affect Princes Nicholas, Felix, Henrik and Princess Athena. “The descendants of HRH Prince Joachim can only use their titles as Count and Countess of Monpezat from 1 January 2023,” — said in a statement from the palace. From next year, Prince Joachim's children will not be given titles, nor will they be addressed as “His or Her Highness.” The Queen explained her decision by the fact that, in her opinion, this will allow her grandchildren to build a life without the restrictions of “special considerations and duties”, which should benefit them.
