Death toll in Turkey and Syria tops 20,000

By the evening of February 9, the total death toll from the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria exceeded 20,000.
This was reported by the state media of both countries.< br />
In particular, the Turkish Disaster Relief Agency announced that 17,134 dead have been found so far.
In turn, Syrian officials report at least 3,317 victims. Thus, the total number of victims is at least 20,451 people. The death toll continues to rise as people remain buried under the rubble.
