A day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth was held in India

On Sunday, a day of mourning was held in India in connection with the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.

Flags over the Indian Parliament, the President's House and other government institutions in New Delhi were at half-mast, AP reports.

Official entertainment events have also been canceled “as a sign of respect for the departed dignitary,” the Indian Home Office said.

Recall that Queen Elizabeth died September 8, aged 96. Her son Charles became the new king of Great Britain, who received Charles III after his coronation.
