With Storm Barbara hitting Israel tonight, the Nature and Parks Authority is issuing a warning urging tourists to avoid streams and rivers, and clarifies, that it is “dangerous to life”.

A statement on behalf of the department says that according to the forecast of the meteorological service until the evening of Wednesday February 8, there is a fear of flooding in the south and east, flooding in the foothills and snowfall on high peaks.

According to the announcement: “It is strictly forbidden to enter on foot or by vehicle into the streams until the water level is completely low.” The agency emphasizes that this is a “danger to life”.

The agency also warns that “it is forbidden to approach the edge of the stream during a flood for fear of the bank collapsing.”
