Dakar Rally Car Explosion Investigated As Terrorist Attack
France has launched an investigation into the explosion of a car that participated in the Paris-Dakar rally, reports France24.
The explosion took place on December 30 in Jeddah. There were 5 Frenchmen in the car, the driver was badly injured.
The investigation was led by the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office of France. A preliminary investigation is underway “ into the attempted murder in connection with the terrorist attack. ''
It is noted that the organizers of the rally stated that the incident was not related to the races.
