One of Iran's largest steel companies said on Monday, June 27, that it was forced to stop production after it was subjected to a cyber attack.
The state-owned Khuzestan Steel Company said the plant was forced to shut down due to “technical problems” following the cyberattack. At the same time, according to The Times of Israel, the company's website was down on Monday.
The company's CEO Amin Ebrahimi said that Khuzestan Steel managed to prevent not only a cyber attack, but also structural damage to production lines.
According to him, the company's website will be restored and everything will return to “normal situation” by the end of Monday, June 27.
Local news channel Jamaran reported that the attack had failed because the factory was down due to a power outage at the time.
