Cuomo will not be on trial – proceedings dropped
A US court dismissed a sexual harassment lawsuit against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Amid the scandal, the politician resigned as head of state.
Cuomo was accused of inappropriate behavior in early 2021. In particular, the former assistant to the governor stated that he “ got his hand under her blouse. ''
This statement formed the basis of the formal charges brought against her. The politician was threatened with a year of imprisonment, writes TheHill.
However, in November it turned out that the lawsuit was drawn up with violations & mdash; it did not contain certified victim testimony or evidence of the crime. Cuomo's lawyers have petitioned to dismiss the case.
