Copyright infringement scandal: Meghan Markle gets tabloid money

Winning Meghan Markle will receive money from British tabloids for copyright infringement.

< br /> The Duchess of Sussex has filed two lawsuits: one & ndash; on copyright infringement, second & ndash; on the misuse of private information.

According to a court order dated December 17, Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) holding company, which owns the tabloids Mail on Sunday and Mail Online, must pay the Duchess a pre-agreed “ confidential amount '' as compensation.

ANL violated Markle's copyright by publishing excerpts from a handwritten letter she sent to her father in The Mail on Sunday and on the Mail Online website.

Also, the Duchess must be paid £ 1 ($ 1.3) in nominal damages for the misuse of private information.
