US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

According to the Jerusalem Post, this was Blinken's first conversation with Abbas since Benjamin Netanyahu won the election.

During the conversation, Abbas reiterated his demand that the United States put pressure on Israel to stop its “crimes against the Palestinian people,” “including blockades, extrajudicial killings, demolition of houses and construction of settlements.

According to the Palestinian press, Blinken told Abbas that the US administration is making efforts to resolve the situation.
