 Comedian Gudkov faces prison in Russia for parody song

Russian comedian Alexander Gudkov faces a prison term for a parody video for Shaman's song “I'm Russian”.

recorded a satirical parody clip, calling it "I am narrow". In his version, the following words are heard:
“And my views in life are narrow, but I feel so good too”, “The way I am, it's easy to break me, and all because I'm narrow.”

Artur Shlykov, the head of the public movement Civil Committee of Russia, considered inciting ethnic hatred in a satirical work and submitted an official request to the Russian prosecutor's office. He asked to open a criminal case under Article 282 of the Criminal Code “Inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity.”

The article provides for a fine of 500,000 rubles or a term of two to five years in a colony.
