 Colombian prison riot sparks fire

A riot broke out in a Colombian prison that led to a fire.

Inmates set fire to mattresses to prevent guards from breaking up the riot, officials say. The fire broke out in one of the prison blocks, where about 180 prisoners are kept.

As a result of the incident, 49 prisoners were killed, more than 30 people, including prison guards, were injured, according to the Air Force.

The fire was extinguished. None of the prisoners escaped.
